The story poignantly explores the lasting echoes of trauma, the way a single moment can reverberate through lives for years. It's a deep dive into the aftermath, the struggles, and ultimately, the journey towards healing and hope.
As a reader, I find myself deeply invested in the protagonist, Lauren's journey. Her quest for light in the midst of shadows resonates profoundly, leaving me eagerly anticipating the next chapter of her life. This novel is not just a story; it's a powerful exploration of the human capacity to find light in darkness.

A gripping tale, beautifully rendered.

The first thing that strikes you about this novel is its utter sincerity. Although the subject matter is dark and disturbing, it never falls into despair, based as it is on a bedrock belief in the world’s inherent goodness. No matter how this faith is tested—and believe me, it’s a lot—we are constantly reminded of the power of love, and the strength of familial bonds.

Most authors would exclusively focus on the crime that’s chronicled here, and end the book soon afterwards. But Molloy insists on carrying forward, and thus finding the ultimate violation, the manner in which the initial event can haunt its victims for years to come. Like many readers I’m eagerly waiting for the next chapter in Lauren’s life, and her ongoing search for the light.
